Chris Pinkham

Chris leads Platform Engineering at Twitter where he is responsible for compute and storage platform, search infrastructure, data & analytics platform, communication infrastructure and other essential core application service teams.

Before joining Twitter, Chris was Senior Vice President for Cloud Product Development at Oracle. He was previously a co-founder and CEO of Nimbula, a cloud software company acquired by Oracle. Earlier, he was a Vice President of Engineering at Amazon.com, where he led the development of Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). His contributions to building internet services and platforms span nearly three decades, originating at the University of Cape Town in the late 1980s, and include the founding of South Africa's first Internet company in 1993.

Chris graduated from the University of Cape Town with a B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science. He is @ccpinkham on Twitter.
