Matt leads the Cloud Engineering and Operations team at Time Warner Cable. Using several cloud orchestration and virtualization technologies including Openstack, Matt’s team is transforming traditional data centers into flexible and cost-effective Infrastructure-as-a-Service platforms. A cable “newbie”, Matt recently joined Time Warner Cable from HP where he led the engineering effort behind the HP Public Cloud. For more than two decades Matt has held management and technology positions with several leading companies including Time Warner Cable, HP, and Inktomi where he helped to bring innovative solutions to market in the areas of cloud services, streaming media, and Internet infrastructure. At Inktomi Matt was one of the original architects for the Traffic Server product, now known as Apache Traffic Server (ATS). Prior to these industry roles Matt held academic faculty and research positions with NASA Langley Research Center and the University of Wyoming. Matt holds a PhD in Computer Science, an MBA in Finance and 12 US patents.
